The book is the first attempt to systematize all known data on the history of wine-growing and wine-making in Armenia starting from the ancient times up to 1828. The monograph places this peculiar craft into a common system of national crafts of the Armenians, and highlights its role in the indicated period. On the basis of the analysis of variable cuneiform inscriptions and Armenian manuscripts the author presents many technological secrets and examples of grape adaptation in ancient and medieval Armenian culture.
