The book seeks to look at the Slovak state, human nationalism, political Catholicism and domestic variations of fascism from a European perspective. Its aim is to understand what Slovak fascism (or fascism in Slovakia) was, what it looked like in the interwar and war period, and who was its bearer. It deals with questions of what were its cultural, socio-political and social roots, how it developed under the influence of domestic and international factors and what consequences, stretching to our present, left its scope in Slovak political culture and society.
