The work of the representative bodies of state authority in the Komi Republic in the 1980-1990s is under concrete-historical analysis. The state policy at the end of the 1980s is examined thoroughly. Special attention is paid to the transition from one kind of superior representative authority (Supreme Soviet) to another (State Council) in the Republic of Komi. The experience of the two superior government bodies is studied and generalized.
