The monograph deals with the problem of formation and evolution of economic and cultural structure of the North European and Siberian peoples from the Mesolithic epoch to nowadays. The author attempts to link the processes of the Arctic region development with the evolution of the climate and ecosystems. He introduces new principles of the archaeological investigation of the materials excavated. Two models of the Northern territories development are presented: the imitative one being a generalization of the archaeological materials proper and the theoretical one as a process going on in the automatic control system, that is the organism system.
