Thanks to the decision of Pope Francis, as of March 2, 2020, it is possible for experts to access the Vatican Apostolic Archives, which contains the documentation of Pope Pius XII, from 1939 to 1958. So did M.Sc. Don Bojan Ivesic, PhD student in Church History at the Gregorian University in Rome, could have an insight into the war period of the Independent State of Croatia. He became interested in the original of the alleged letter that Blessed Alojzije Stepinac allegedly sent to the Pope on May 18, 1943. And he devoted himself to the text and context of the letter by publishing the book "The origin and use of the Vatican version of the 'alleged Stepinac letter' from 1943 with reference documents".
