The Orenburg region is renowned for famous poets and writers. The origins of Maurice Druon and Joseph Kessel come from Orenburg. Gavriil Derzhavin, Sergey Aksakov, Vladimir Dal, Taras Shevchenko, Musa Jalil lived and worked here, Alexander Pushkin and Leo Tolstoy visited Orenburg. The well-known Orenburg literary historians will show a reader around the favorite places of the city which became the attractions for the artistic comprehension and which have helped to create the “Orenburg text” of the Russian literature.
