Miory region is rich in talents. This was noticed more than once during the presentation of the collection “On the Dvina Horseshoe”. The book includes works by about a hundred authors from the 19th century to the present, whose fate is connected with the Miory region.
The basis for preparing the collection for publication was done by the compiler, former editor of the regional newspaper Leonid Matelenak. The book includes works by both natives of the area and those who worked here in their time.
The first reader of the collection “On the Horseshoe of the Dvina” at the stage of its preparation for publication was the chairman of the regional Council of Deputies Valery Draba. According to him, he knew many names, while at the same time discovering new authors. He noted that the publication of a book is a significant event, the deep meaning of which, perhaps, we do not yet fully understand. The collection has already become a bestseller in the region.
