From the ancient times, Pskov has been famous for its glamour. There are over 300 monuments of architecture of the XIIth-XXth centuries that have been preserved. The author of this book is a Doctor of Philosophy and Fine Art. Her Ph.D. thesis was devoted to Pskov and its religious architecture. This publication is about Krom and Devmont. Krom was a fortress around which the settlement started. Devmont was the second line of fortification. This part is considered to be the heart of the town. Another key building in Pskov is the Trinity Cathedral, which is the sole of the town.
