"Jewish State" and "Old New Land" are the works of the founder of political Zionism, Theodor Herzl, which played a key role in the Jewish national movement. "Jewish State" (1896) is a thorough work (pamphlet) in which the difficult situation of the Jews scattered around the world at that time is analyzed, and on the basis of this analysis a solution is proposed - the reunification of Jewish communities in their own national state. "The Old New Land" (1902) is a work of art that presents a vivid vision of the future Jewish state, a utopian novel in which elements of a philosophical and economic treatise border on descriptions of human relationships and everyday situations. Both books in their time inspired people to a common cause, which was embodied in the creation of the state of Israel.
