The author, Tatyana Berga, introduces the reader to her investigation on numismatics. The work is based on some archival documents and aims at observing role and function of money and coins in Latvia on ancient times. Unique archeological finds within the territory of Latvia dating back to the VIth-XIth centuries are explored by the author. Description of ancient medals supplied with pictures is also given in the book. Represented studying is inseparably connected with the history of Latvia and contains some interesting proofs of historical facts.
