The text of the book is written in the form of stories, telling about some moments of the author's development - as a person, a zoologist, a university teacher, a scientist, whose interests are mainly aimed at understanding the behavioral ecology of the brown bear, studying and developing controversial topics of evolutionary biology and evolutionary ecology. The author is part of a cohort of field zoologists collecting the results of their own unique observations and impressions, some of which can no longer be repeated. In describing his observations, he tries to be extremely accurate and, as fully as possible, conveys his impressions, recorded in field diaries and photo documents and supplemented by materials placed in already published articles and monographs. Stanislav Vladimirovich Puchkovsky is a professor at the Department of Geography, Cartography and Geoinformatics at the Institute of Natural Sciences, and a Doctor of Biological Sciences.
