During martial law, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years' deprivation of public rights, which was the highest sentence passed in the country. In an open letter, written in the prison in Fordon, she rejected the proposal of the Chairman of the Council of State - Henryk Jablonski, giving the opportunity to ask for a grace and leave the prison early.
