The second book contains memoirs about Nikolai Semenovich Golovanov, written by representatives of various professions and specialties - conductors, singers, orchestra members, choirmasters, composers, musicologists, directors, actors, writers, artists, and theater figures. Previously published and published for the first time, they comprehensively reveal the personality of the conductor and his professional essence. The memoirs reflect the life of Golovanov himself, as well as the life of those musical organizations with which the conductor creatively interacted during the 1910s-1950s. It should be noted that the scope of the narrative in some texts is expanded by mini-portraits of conductors, Golovanov's contemporaries, and interesting details about the activities of the aforementioned organizations. Thus, a more complete picture of the time and musical life of those years is formed with the participation of many conductors and, above all, Nikolai Semenovich Golovanov himself. The appendix contains works analysing Golovanov's latest productions as a conductor at the Bolshoi Theatre and on the radio, and his interpretation of P. I. Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, as well as a comparative portrait of N. Golovanov and W. Furtwängler. The book contains an annotated index of names and a block of new photographs from Golovanov's archive, which illustrate the texts of the memoirs.
