The collection is published within the framework о the academic project Gender Discourse and National IdentiV in Russia: Historical Retrospective and Modem Tendencies. Th project involves diachronic and synchronic analysis of th problem of the relation between gender and national discours in Russia from the second half of the 19\'h century to the earl 20lh century. The collection is a research on the national spe cificity of masculinity and femininity constructs and is based on the study of literary, belle-lettres, critical, philosophical and journalistic texts.
