The memoirs of Bodaibo resident A.S. Ivelsky (1901-1994) cover his entire life, from his birth at the Feodosievsky mine to his old age in the 1960s in San Francisco. He describes in detail his childhood at the mines, his studies in Tomsk and Bodaibo, his participation as a White volunteer in the events of the Civil War in the Lena-Vitim Mining District and Irkutsk, his forced service in the Red Army, his escape to the taiga, his stay in Duganov's White rebel detachment, his retreat to Yakutia, his evacuation to Vladivostok, and then to Genzan and Harbin (1923). He also describes his life in exile, in Harbin, Shanghai, and San Francisco.
