The book is the result of a 10-year search for information about the ancestors, and it brings together 600 years of the kin and 23 generations. The book provides generation lists and genealogical tables of 8 related surnames: Somov, Novosiltsev, Zheljeznyakov, Kozulin, Pohitonov, Chernykh, Bonishko and Zhukaev, and covers 767 personalities. The kin of Vera Petrovna was started in 1389 by the distinguished son of the Golden Horde Aslan Murza Chelibey, baptized under the name of Procopij. From his eldest son Arseny started the Arseniev noble family, and a famous poet M.Lermontov is related to this family in the female line. Somovs also descended from the youngest son of Chelibey - Leo the Wide Mouth, and the last name came from the nickname of his son Andrew – Som (catfish).
