"My Favorite Country" is a book by Russian journalist, former special correspondent for Novaya Gazeta Elena Kostyuchenko. It is called "My Favorite Country" and tells the story of how Russia slowly slid into war. Kostyuchenko is one of the most famous Russian journalists. In the first weeks of the full-scale Russian invasion of 2022, she worked in Ukraine and published several texts for Novaya Gazeta, which became important evidence of the war and the crimes committed by the Russian military. During the war, Elena Kostyuchenko was forced to leave Russia for Germany. Later, already on the territory of the FRG, they apparently tried to poison her.
