Leonid Lvovich Zaliznyak's memoirs have two dimensions. On the one hand, the reader is immersed in the 1920s and 1950s, the story of a separate Ukrainian family that fell into the throes of Stalinist repression. Another dimension of these memories is Ukrainian archeology of the second half of the XX - beginning of the XXI century. Leonid Zaliznyak went from laboratory assistant to head of the department of the Institute of Archeology in Kyiv, his efforts created the Department of Archeology at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Apparently, one should not look for a more complete and vivid picture of Ukrainian academic archeological science, a look at it "from within." "My Archeology" reveals to the reader the author's memories of family, personal and professional development. This is a book about the search for its roots on an individual level - the history of the genus, and national - archeology as an argument in favor of rootedness in their land.
