Collection "Moscow - the third Rome". The Origin of Myth "contains scientific works of famous historians of the second half of the twentieth century. Natalia Polonska-Vasylenko, Yuriy Boyko, Vasyl Hryshko, Hans Koch, Borys Krupnytsky, Ivan Mirchuk, Oleksandr Ogloblin. The book exposes the anti-scientific nature of Russia's messianic claims and proves the difference between Ukrainian and Russian historiosophical concepts. The collection was edited by Professor Dr. Yevhen Kalyuzhny. Foreword by Doctor of Historical Sciences Igor Girich.
The theory of "Moscow - the Third Rome" has formed the national mentality of the Russian, which is based on confidence in his "superiority" compared to any other people in the world. For Ukrainians, this idea is a kind of litmus test. Whoever recognizes it as positive determines his belonging to the Russian nation.
The problem of the theory of the "Third Rome" is also one of the key issues of Ukrainian historiography and at the same time public opinion. It stands next to such problems as belonging to the Kyiv-Russian heritage, the Pereyaslav Agreement of 1654, the significance of Ivan Mazepa's activity, the war for independence of 1917–1921, and the national liberation struggle of the 1930s and 1950s.
