Authors present a methodological approach to assessing impact of science, innovation and knowledge spillovers in relation to the main elements of the knowledge economy that ensure economic growth of Russian regions in 2005–2016. Econometric models of endogenous growth to assess the impact of knowledge economy sectors – R&D, education and healthcare sectors – on the growth rates in Russian regions are developed. We consider non-spatial types of proximity, which are cognitive and structural-technological proximity and provide quantitative estimates of their impact on knowledge creation in Rus-sian regions. The book might be of interest to specialists in planning and monitoring of innovations, representatives of regional administrations, as well as to researchers and lecturers of economic universities.
