For the first time military school in Russia was created by the general field-marshal Minikh in 1732. In 1917 there were over 29 military schools in Russia. Their objective was the training of "gentry children" for further military education. Within all their history the objectives and programs of military schools were constantly changing, but they have always been an important constituent in the education of future officers of the Russian Army.
