One of the most important components of the state-building process in Ukraine is the activity of state bodies and interested structures of civil society in matters of guaranteeing national security, national interests, a component of which are military and political interests: ensuring peace, integrity and inviolability of the state; strengthening of defense capability; Euro-Atlantic integration. During the 30 years of independence, they have undergone significant evolution in the wording and provisions of the main state documents. However, only the Russian-Ukrainian war, which began in 2014, revealed significant miscalculations in this area and became a catalyst for the implementation of the state's military and political interests.
