The collection for the first time features the full volume of songs being the crown jewel of the Mari people folk-song legacy – their wedding songs.
These songs were preserved both in publications of previous researchers (V.Vasiliev, Ya.Eshpai, V.Laszlo, D.Kulshe-tov) and in manuscript collections of different institutions. The collection also features the material from folk music expeditions that took place over the past years in different regions housing the Mari communities.
