The photo of a muddy, beaten and extremely thin man behind the Trnopolje camp strut on the cover of the Time magazine went up and shook the world in the summer of 1992. Fikret Alic suddenly became a personification of inmates and torture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It became the symbol of a new aggression in Europe, the world's largest after World War II, and his photo was just recalling that war.
