Lucia Dovicakova (1981) belongs to the unmissable female artists on the Slovak art scene. At the center of her interest is a woman and her image. The exhibition I feel like... presents the works from the collection of Galeria Nedbalka, which reflect the main themes appearing in the author's work from her student days to the present, divided into thematic circles. Dovicakova's paintings can bridge the gap between theory and everyday reality, between convinced feminists and those who experience an aha-moment when looking at her works, e.g. in the form of laughing at the situation, which is an exaggeration, but hits the essence of the problem with millimeter precision. Precisely (self) irony and exaggeration are weapons that can be transformed into an emancipatory tool in the right hands.
