Ljubica Jocic Knezevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1973. In 1998 she graduated at the Faculty of Applied Art and Design, Belgrade. In 2001, she took a Master in Ceramic Art at the same Faculty, with a dissertation titled “Ceramic sculpture for interiors and exteriors of public spaces for society humanization and education," under the supervision of professor Velimir Vukicevic. In July 2001 she obtained authorization for a residency in Japan from the Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunka-cho/Government of Japan), and in April 2002 she took a course in ceramic sculpture at the Tajimi Ceramic Institute (Isho ken), with professor Harumi Nakashima. Knezevic is an active member of a number of associations, including the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of Serbia, DOSOKAI, the association of former students in Japan, ULPUDS-Serbia, the Arts Council for the ceramic arts section, and IAC, International Academy of Ceramics.
