The monograph presents the results of the study of life and leisure in the countryside in 1991–2005. The geographical boundaries are defined by the territory of central Ukraine in the administrative boundaries of Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions.
Based on a wide range of sources, the state of scholarly development of the problem in historiography was clarified, the source base was systematized and analyzed. The social and everyday living conditions of the rural population of Ukraine in the 90s of the 20th - at the beginning of the 21st centuries were studied and their cultural and educational needs were revealed.
