If someone in 1918 predicted the development of logic in the next twenty years, he would probably mention Great Britain, the USA, Italy, Germany and France. However, around 1930, Warsaw was recognized as one of the world capitals of mathematical logic. Indeed, logic has become a significant chapter in the history of science in Poland. This lexicon presents the profiles and achievements of Polish logicians who began their scientific careers in the period from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to 1939. Not only are people focusing on logical research, mainly mathematicians and philosophers, but also those for whom logic was a secondary field of interest, for example linguists, philologists, sociologists and psychologists.
