Alzhappar Abishev (1907-2001) - People's Writer of Kazakhstan, member of the Writers' Union of the USSR, prose writer and playwright. He created his works in the Kazakh language, but starting from the 1950s, their translations into Russian also appeared (and in the first half of the 1980s, his collected works were published in five volumes). For the first time, the last book of Alzhappar Abishev "Aitpay ketti demeder" ("Let them not say that he left in silence") becomes available to the Russian-speaking reader, which he managed to complete shortly before his death (in May 2001). The writer wanted to share his thoughts not only as a witness, but also as a direct participant in many tragic and heroic events of the 20th century, as well as to talk about his contemporaries, friends and many wonderful people with whom fate confronted him. Alzhappar Abishev believed that it was his duty to pass on the difficult historical experience to the younger generation.
