This book collects the opinion of 64 Bulgarian artists about the Bulgarian language, the word, the letters, the work and the holiday of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, about the school and teachers, about books and the Day of the People's Awakeners. Some texts are classic odes to enlightenment and are studied in school, others are almost unknown even to highly educated readers. Some are large-scale works, and others are almost elementary rhymes for very young children. But each of the included works overflows with love, admiration and genuine concern for the native language and writing, because their authors are painfully aware of the huge role of speech and our language in preserving national identity in this modern, confused, global century.
