The book unfolds the history of a unique monument of Russian literature - the Koenigsberg Chronicle, the work, which sheds light on the origin and stratification of the Slavonian tribes, establishment of the Old Russian State and its government in the IXth and Xth centuries. Moreover, scholars have managed to collect the most complete data on the history, origin and role of the chronicle in the formation of Russian historical science.
