Our ancestors constantly improved the local speech, enriching it with various proverbs, similes, and poetic expressions. Among these miniature dialectal masterpieces, there are those that are widespread in the wider areas of Halychyna, in narrower areas (Pokuttia and Hutsulshchyna), partly in other parts of Ukraine, and there are those that are purely Kliuchiv ones. The book contains 2060 samples. It can be assumed that in the 19th and 20th centuries, residents of Velykyi Kliuchiv used at least 2,500 such sayings, proverbs, sayings, etc., enriching and embellishing our rural speech.
