As a result of the persistent efforts of the Russian government, on July 24, 1783, the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti, according to the treaty signed in Georgievsk, became a vassal of the Russian Empire, which gave rise to Russian domination in the South Caucasus. Over the years, this issue had an ideological significance and was overgrown with propaganda myths. Even today the Kremlin uses this topic in our country to promote its imperialist interests. Based on primary sources, the book analyzes the set of reasons that led to the execution of the noted contract. Against the background of the existing political situation in the Caucasus, in the countries of the Black Sea coast and in the Middle East as a whole, the aspirations, goals and objectives of both the Georgian side and the Russian side are shown.
