Hristo Botev (real name Hristo Botev Petkov, 1848-1876) - Bulgarian poet, revolutionary and national hero. One of the “four great” (Cheterimata golemi) leaders of the Bulgarian liberation movement from the Ottoman yoke. Botev's greatness is so great that it would be fair to admit that there is no other like him with such importance in Bulgarian poetry and journalism. Did he express the fullness of an age, its spirit and essence, its feelings and thoughts? so clear and pure, in such words, that they cannot be repeated or even imitated. That is why it is not understood in all its meaning and significance.
