The publication describes the course of the military battle of Khotyn in 1621, its impact on Europe of that time, and also presents the military, political and historical traditions of all participants in those events - Ukrainian Cossacks, Lithuanian, Polish, Ottoman and Tatar soldiers. At the same time, the interpretation of the significant battle by its contemporaries is highlighted.
A key feature of this publication is the publication of images of unique artifacts from the collections of leading Ukrainian museums and archives, as well as documents and graphics from similar institutions in Sweden, Poland and Turkey. In addition, the book feutures for the first time the works of leading reconstructors of Cossack clothing and weapons of the early 17th century.
