The first conference on Indian studies held in Kazakhstan focused on the historical, cultural and civilizational relations between India and Kazakhstan. This one-day forum was organized to promote bilateral relations and mutual understanding between these two countries. The conference was subdivided into several sections, covering such topics as India-Kazakh relations, political, economic, social and regional security problems; historical, political and economic aspects of relations between Kazakhstan and India; spiritual and cultural interactions between these countries.
