The materials presented in the book all relate to Chekhov (Chokhov) family, representatives of which lived, or stayed (like A.P. Chekhov himself in the summer of 1891) in Kaluga, and are based on the documents from the State archive and correspondence between family members. The supplement contains letters of A. Chekhov to his cousin, and the work by Kaluga local history specialist D.Malinin “A.P.Chakhov in Bogimov of Tarus uyezd” once published in 1931 and never again until now.
