The period between the two world wars offers a number of topics that allow us to understand and process the position of the Jewish community in Slovakia. One of the new chapters in the interwar history of Jews in Slovakia is represented by the research of Jewish political parties and the political ambitions of their representatives. As the prevailing view is that Jews, through Jewish political parties, entered the political life of society, it is interesting to observe the way in which they sought to bring about a change in social processes.
They were accompanied by a struggle for equality, for the recognition of Jewish nationality, but also for the growth of the Zionist movement and especially the political ambitions of the leaders of Slovak Jewry. All this (and not only that) took place in the complex, yet positive socio-political environment of the First Czechoslovak Republic, which, through President T. G. Masaryk, guaranteed Jews their rights and personal freedom.
