The photographs of the album make only a part of Jerusalem views recorded by the Russian and foreign photographers of the end of the XIXth – beginning of the XXth centuries, which are kept in the photo department of the Scientific Archive of the Material Culture Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The album also contains photos from the funds of the architect M.Preobrazhensky, specialist in oriental studies Y.Smirnov, historian of antiquity M.Maximova, and from the collections of the American colony’s photos in Jerusalem. All the photos are grouped according to the funds and to their topics.
