The book deals with the history of Goths in the Crimea, who appeared there in the IIId century and were assimilated by the Russian people by the end of the XVIIIth century. Written records about Goths in the Greek, Latin and other languages are interpreted on the basis of the archaeological investigations conducted on the territory of the Crimea, Ukraine, Poland and Russia. Special attention is paid to the philological and historical studies of the poem of 1396 composed by the Greek priest Matfei about the city of Feodoro (Mangup).
