The monograph contains theoretical and methodological reflections on the correlation of definitions of rural sociology, social space and social geography. The work examines changes in the structure of land ownership, shows the institutional dynamics of post-Soviet transformations and the most important principles of modernization in rural areas. Quantitative indicators of the largest landholdings and agricultural holdings in Russia according to open reporting data in dynamics for 2000-2020 are presented, and conclusions about positive and negative effects are drawn.
