The aim of the book is to provide the reader with accessible knowledge about inequality in Poland. We want to revive and change the public debate on inequality in Poland - to show that it is important, how much it amounts to, what are its causes, how to reduce it and why it is worth it. We will be dealing with various myths that have become firmly established in our public debate: that inequality is good for economic growth, inequality in Poland is moderate, the rich get rich only through their own diligence, poverty is mainly the result of laziness, the minimum wage increases unemployment, and progressive taxes are ineffective. And so on.
