The author traces the tragic fates of Academician Agatangel Krymsky, poets Mykola Vorony and his son Mark, neoclassicists Mykola Zerov, Mykhailo Dray-Khmara, and Pavel Fy on the materials of investigative and court cases of former punitive bodies of the DPU-NKVD-NKDB ; tells about the arrest of Maksym Rylsky by the DPU, the exile of Ostap Vyshna, Borys Antonenko-Davidovych, Zinaida Tulub, and Ivan Ivanov. The book also talks about the persecution of Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Volodymyr Sosyura, and Yuriy Yanovsky for their love of Ukraine. The last chapter is devoted to the resurrection from oblivion of the creators of the Ukrainian revival, which went down in history as the shot.
