The culturological essay by S.V.Tsvetkov “In Search of Ancient Slavic Motherland” is dedicated to the key question of the Russian history - “Where did the Russian land come from?”. The book was written in the form of travel notes. It discovers formation of the Slavic world and Russian State system in the context of European civilization development, and shows the unity of the cultural area of Europe in the Middle Ages and the present time. Comparing history of different countries the author concludes, that ancient Russia originally developed as a state, where international trade was the basis of the state and military policy. The characters of the book are both well-known historical figures and our contemporaries.
