The monograph analyzes the processes of codification of civil legislation of the Ostsee region, which were embodied in the publication of the Code of Civil Laws of the Ostsee provinces in 1864. Special attention is paid to the conceptual approaches to the process of codification of civil legislation in the Ostsee provinces that existed in the legal thought of the Ostsee region, which remain poorly studied in Russia. The points of view of Russian and European legal science on the construction of models of codification of the legislation of the Ostsee region are presented. When analyzing doctrinal sources, the emphasis is placed on the German-language works of the Ostsee jurists F. G. Bunge, H. H. Dabelov, G. F. Sealfeldt and O. F. Meikov, which have not been translated into Russian so far.
