The monograph is another attempt to engage in the current discussion about the Soviet past, to explore the ambivalent modern society of the Soviet period and its culture, and to analytically explain how the Soviet modernity project interacted and interwoven with the national modern society of Lithuania during that period, and how such entanglement fits into the more general process of modernization.
