The history of pre-revolutionary libraries of the region is recreated in the monograph. Interaction of civilizations of Russia and Yakutia during almost three centuries is shown on the examples of formation and development of libraries in the region. The stages of libraries development, time of their activity, their numbers, types, public functions and contacts with book trading and book publishing centers of Russia are shown for the first time by the author. A significant complex of archive material, including data of such rare documents as inventories of church book depositories and accounts from shops are introduced into the scientific use.
