An in-depth study of the recent history of the Estonian police (from the re-establishment of the police force on March 1, 1991, after almost half a century of occupation, to the present day). The introductory chapter reflects on the liquidation of the Estonian police in 1940. The main axis of the book is the reorganization of the police into the police, the turbulent and often also criminal 1990s, the time of formation and internationalization of the police after them, the further work of the police to create a safe and stable living environment. The book is based on primary sources from the National Archives of Estonia, police publications, memoirs, journalism and is richly illustrated.
