The monograph clarifies the attitude of Iranian historians to the historical geography of Azerbaijan, the history of statehood, the formation of the Azerbaijani people, language and culture. In particular, the study and evaluation of the national democratic movement in South Azerbaijan in 1905-1911 and the movement of Sheikh Mohammad Khiyabani in April-September 1920 and Seyid Jafar Peshawari in 1945-1946 in Iranian historiography were studied and thoroughly analyzed using the sources of the period. In addition, the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and its relations with Iran, Azerbaijani-Iranian relations during the Soviet era, as well as the historical issues of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan have been widely studied in Iranian historiography.
