Pavlo Teteria — Ukrainian diplomat, military, political and statesman. Hetman of the Zaporozhian Army, head of the Cossack state of Right-Bank Ukraine. He was part of the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow to formalize the Pereiaslav Treaty. Having become hetman, he pursued a policy of abolishing the union of Ukraine with the Moscow monarch. Son-in-law of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.
Ivan Briukhovetskyi — Ukrainian military, political and statesman, diplomat. Hetman of the Zaporozhian Army, head of the Cossack state in Left-Bank Ukraine. In January 1668, he openly broke with the Moscow Kingdom, called for unification with Right-Bank Ukraine and sent an embassy to the Ottoman Empire with a request to accept the Cossacks under the protection of Sultan Mehmed IV.
